Well Aaron and I finally gave Ava her first real bath Sunday evening. We have been giving her sponge baths until now. Ava did not loose her umbilical cord until she was almost 3 weeks, then we needed to get a space heater to use in the kitchen to give her a bath. ( we have a very large sink, its easier to wash her there). So thanks to Jackie and Jay we borrowed a very nice disk heater they were not using; Ava got her bath and.... SHE LOVED IT!!!! We were prepared for a screaming fit the whole time, and not one little whimper came out! We had our video camera and digital cameras at hand. It was a fun experience for both Ava and us.
Well little Ava had a very busy week, and a fun weekend. Her milestones this week were: meeting her cousin Lucas and her Great Grandpa Jim (who is 90)!! Now this was not the very first meeting, it was however the first time Mommy got pictures!
On Sunday we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Lyncha, as we do every Sunday. And Ava's Great Grandpa Jim is always there too. He loves seeing his great grandchildren. One thing about Grandpa Jim is he gives us all nicknames... I am Mich-mouse, Lucas is King Kong, and little Ava is now Powerful Katrinka ( he says that was a old comic book character). She enjoyed being held by her Great Grandpa Jim. She is soo very lucky to have 3 Grandpas to spoil and love her!!

Upon meeting her cousin Lucas, he was very interested in what was making all the fuss. Lucas seemed to like Ava, but not as much as he liked her new toys!! Lucas promptly says BAE-BEE, (very well too) when he sees her. He also has set his toys down on her as if he is sharing them with her. It is soo adorable!! On Friday when I was changing Ava's diaper Lucas went and got his wipes and set them down for us to use!! How helpful he is! He also (if he feels like it) will throw away the dirty diapers for his mommy and auntie. As of now he really seems to like the baby. Ava on the other hand will have to get used to her very "vocal" cousin. Lucas loves to test out those vocal chords very loudly during his every waking moments. He loves to hear his voice, its new to him. We all love to hear him as well, he is sooo cute. However this startles Ava because it will be dead silent and then Lucas will suddenly let out a yell, Ava will jump and cry. She will soon get used to the new noises.

And as Ava grows with each day things she did not like before she is now very fond of. Ava loves her rainforest bouncy seat now (thanks to great Aunt Alice). She used to scream if we set her in it... now she cant get enough of it. (Thank goodness its nice to be able to go pee without her in my arms!) And just today I attempted to try and put her in her rainforest gym... And to my surprise she loved it!! Here are more of the captured memories!
